MPOC: A Chip Multiprocessor for Embedded Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
CMP, chip multiprocessor, embedded processor, embedded DRAM, CPACM MPOC was an ambitious microprocessor project undertaken at Hewlett Packard's Palo Alto Research Lab from about 1998 until early in the year 2001. MPOC was designed to be a single-chip community of identical high-speed RISC processors surrounding a large common storage area. Each processor would have its own clock, cache and program counter. Each processor was to be small and simple, such that it would run very fast using minimal power requirements.

JopCMP - A Java Chip-Multiprocessor for Real-time Systems
This paper proposes a time-predictable Java chip multiprocessor comprising several processing cores and a shared global memory. It features an embedded multiprocessor system for real-time applications based on Java. The FPGA technology is chosen to be the ideal platform solution for the proposed multiprocessor called JopCMP because it permits easy reconfiguration of the system.

متن کاملImpact of CMP Design on High-Performance Embedded Computing
Chip multiprocessors (CMPs) will dominate commercial processor designs for at least the next decade, during which we will likely see an annual doubling of the number of processor cores integrated onto a single chip. This trend is expected in both desktop and server processors, as well as within high-performance embedded systems where, in fact, the phenomenon first appeared. Both Intel’s IXP net...
متن کاملOptimization of Task Scheduling and Memory Partitioning for Multiprocessor System on Chip
Multiprocessor system-on-chip (MPSoC) is an attractive solution for increase in complexity and size of embedded applications. MPSoC is an integrated circuit containing multiple instruction-set processors on a single chip that implements most of the functionality of a complex electronic system. While embedded systems become increasingly complex, the increase in memory access speed has failed to ...
